Navajo Nation Now Has the Largest COVID-19 Infection Rate The Navajo Nation is an area which includes northern Arizona, New Mexico and southern Utah.

As of Monday, 4,002 cases had been reported in the nation, with a reported population of 173,667.

This means that for every 100,000 people, the Navajo Nation has 2,301.41 known cases of COVID-19.

As of Monday, New York has a COVID-19 rate of 1,806 cases per 100,000 people.

The nation currently has one of the most strict stay-at-home orders in the U.S. Despite even having weekend lockdowns, the infection numbers have continued to compound.

Part of the issue is that many residences are multi-generational.

Jonathan Nez, Navajo Nation President 140 people have died in the region.

11 percent of the population has been tested for the coronavirus.
