Chinese motor mechanics disassemble car engine to remove huge snake

Motor mechanics in southern China disassembled a car engine to remove a two-metre-long snake after it slithered inside.

The video, shot in Nanbu County in Sichuan Province on May 26, shows the motor mechanics pulling a huge snake out of a car's bonnet after disassembling some components.

According to reports, the car owner Mr Zhang found a snake climbed into his car bonnet and hid inside.

Since he could only see a part of the snake's body and couldn't flush it out, he drove his car to the city centre to ask help from police and firemen.

After around three hours, with the help of firefighters, the motor mechanics removed the snake from Zhang's car.

Firefighters then took it away and released it back into the wild.

The two-metre-long and three-kilogram snake was reportedly an Elaphe carinata, or king ratsnake, which is not poisonous.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
