Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, on May 15 said the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) package announced by the central government will benefit over 20,000 businesses in Goa. He said, "The new definition of MSME will also benefit the people of Goa. The related package announced by central government will benefit over 20,000 MSMEs in Goa." "We have requested all banks that they should start lending loans to mining, industrial and tourism sector. So, the various sectors can flourish again," he added. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced collateral-free automatic loans worth Rs 3-lakh crore for MSMEs.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said that MSME is a strong force of the country and has a huge contribution in generating employment. "MSME Sector is considered a strong force of the country. It has a huge contribution in providing employment. The package of 3.7 lakh crore has been given for those industries," said Minister Javadekar.

He said that Cabinet has approved extension of time limit for availing the benefits of "Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana" for Ujjwala beneficiaries by three months with effect from 1st July 2020 for remaining gas cylinders.

In a media briefing held on June 03, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar informed that the government have made farmer friendly amendments to the Essential Commodities Act. Javadekar said, "Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approves historic amendment to Essential Commodities Act. We have made farmer friendly amendments to the Essential Commodities Act. The landmark decisions have been taken to benefit farmers."
In a move that will benefit over 72 lakh employees, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the extension of Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) contribution for three more months, from June to August 2020. "Cabinet approves extension of EPF contribution of 24 per cent (12 per cent employees share and 12 per cent employers share) for another 3 months from June to August 2020 under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana/Atma Nirbhar Bharat," Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said here while addressing a press conference after a Cabinet meeting. "The government paid the provident fund for small businesses, where under 100 people are employed and more than 90 per cent of those get salary of less than Rs 15,000. The government paid both the workers/employee's share and the owners' share for three months. The move benefitted over 72 lakh employees," Javadekar said. The minister said that the scheme has been further extended for another 3 months from June to August 2020.

Union Environment Minister, Prakash Javadekar informed that India's tiger estimation for the year 2018 has entered the record books as it was awarded the Guinness World Record for being the largest camera-trap wildlife survey."Guinness Book of World Record has recovered the count of tigers in India has one of the success story and the largest ever camera-trap wildlife survey. In this category Guinness has put India on the first part," said Forest and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar.
