Three terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in J&K's Shopian

Three terrorists were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian.

A cordon and search operation was launched in Sugoo area of Shopian in south Kashmir.

Police and security forces jointly carried out the operation.

Operation began after security forces received information about presence of terrorists.

Search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists fired upon forces, who retaliated.

Identity and group affiliation of the terrorists are yet to be ascertained.

This is the third encounter in Shopian in four days.

Nine Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed in two gun fights on Sunday and Monday.

The nine terrorists also included a self-styled commander.
