Shops are gearing up to open shutters in southern India following relaxed lockdown
As part of relaxed lockdown norms, restaurants, shopping outlets and markets in the south Indian state of Karnataka are to open their shutters from June 8.
The Union health ministry has said shops in containment zones shall remain closed and those that will open will have to ensure social distancing.
However, while shops and market places have been allowed to open up, the Centre has denied permission to hotels and restaurants to operate their kitchen for home delivery of food items.
