38,000 people have been affected by floods in 5 districts of Assam.

The death toll has now reached 12 even as floods have inundated 102 villages in 5 districts of the state.

The Brahmaputra river continues to swell in Guwahati with water level being just a metre lower than the danger mark.

Its tributaries are flowing above the danger mark in some places of the state.
