The administration of Hotel Taj received threat call on June 29.
The call was made from Karachi and the caller threatened to blow up the hotels.
While speaking to media in Mumbai, the Home Minister of Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh said, "After Karachi stock exchange terror attack, Taj Mahal Palace received a terror threat from Karachi." "I have had detailed discussions on beefing up security arrangements with both Maharashtra DGP and Mumbai Commissioner of Police," he added.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, on being asked if Mumbai Police will hand over the Sushant Singh Rajput's death case probe to CBI or there will be a parallel investigation, said that the state government will abide by Supreme Court's decision. He said, "We will abide by Supreme Court decision. Mumbai Police is investigating the case very professionally, depending on the decision of Supreme Court on August 11, we will proceed according."
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh dodged question on Patna Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari forcibly quarantined in Mumbai. Later, when he was questioned on investigation carried out by Mumbai Police in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, Home Minister said, "Mumbai Police investigation is progressing in the right direction, and in a professional manner."

Patna Police informed that the preliminary investigation has begun. Rhea Chakraborty is also consulting her lawyers. Rhea’s lawyer was seen leaving her house on July 28. Meanwhile, the police have recorded statements of over 40 people. Dharma Productions CEO recorded his statement in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case on 28 July. Apoorva Mehta was questioned at Mumbai’s Amboli Police Station. On June 18, Rhea Chakraborty recorded her statement in the case. Rhea also demanded a probe by the CBI into his suicide. She requested Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate an inquiry. Sushant Singh Rajput was reportedly found hanging in his flat. Sushant is suspected to have committed suicide at his Mumbai home. The cases of coronavirus continued to surge in India, however, fatality rate dipped to 1.99 %, informed Health Ministry. National Expert Group on vaccine administration has also been constituted by Centre. Maharashtra continues to witness surge of over 10,000 COVID-19 cases taking total tally in the state to 5,35,601. Delhi reported 1257 COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths on Aug 11. Karnataka recorded 6,257 COVID-19 cases today. While, Tamil Nadu reported 5,834 COVID-19 cases and 118 deaths so, total number of cases in the state is now at 3,08,649, including 2,50,680 discharged, 52,810 active cases and 5,159 deaths. Andhra Pradesh recorded 9024 cases. Country has conducted over 2.5 crore sample tests so far.

Last rites of Captain DV Sathe were performed in Mumbai on August 11. Maharashtra government accorded state funeral to late Wing Commander (Retd) Sathe. Even as a political war continues between Bihar and Maharashtra, now the Central Bureau of Investigation has taken over the probe. Social networking site Facebook foiled a suicide attempt of a man by informing the suicidal tendencies he showed on the platform to cyber cell of Delhi Police about it. The man was saved in Mumbai by police officials on August 10. DCP Mumbai (Cyber Cell) Rashmi Karandikar briefed about the incident and said, "Facebook shared details with Delhi Police since phone number linked with the account was registered there.""A police team went to (his home) in East Delhi. The phone number was of his wife who said that she had a fight with her husband who is in Mumbai. We contacted the man, counselled him, traced his location and averted the suicide bid," she said.
Talking about safety of women and children in national capital, Police Commissioner, SN Shrivastava assured that several steps are being taken for security. "Security of women and children is our priority. We want to assure people that many steps are being taken in this direction. We have been trying our best to provide full security to people," Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava said.
The Commissioner of Police, Mumbai held a press conference to provide an update on the progress in investigation regarding actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Param Bir Singh revealed that during the probe, police found that the late actor suffered from bipolar disorder and was taking medications. He was also consulting a psychiatrist for treatment. Mumbai police have so far recorded statements of over 55 people. Mumbai police chief also spoke on the possible conclusions of the investigation. If the investigators don't find any criminality in Sushant's death, then they will approach a magistrate to file a closure report. However, if criminality is found, then charges under the Indian Penal Code would be filed, and the probe would continue. Mumbai Commissioner of Police on August 03 informed that no direct transfer from Sushant's account to Rhea Chakraborty's account found so far. "Bihar Police FIR says Rs 15 cr were siphoned off from Sushant's account. During the probe, we found he had Rs 18 cr in his account of which around Rs 4.5 cr are still there. Till now no direct transfer to Rhea Chakraborty's account found, still probing," said Singh.
Mumbai Commissioner of Police on August 03 clarified on Bihar Police's claim of non cooperation and said that there is no question of non-cooperation. Mumbai Police is legally examining whether Bihar Police have jurisdiction or not in Sushant Singh's death case. "There is no question of non-cooperation, we are legally examining whether they (Bihar police) have jurisdiction or not in Sushant Singh Rajput Case. Still, if they've got jurisdiction then they should prove it," said Param Bir on Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.
Mumbai Commissioner of Police on August 03 said that Sushant Singh Rajput had bipolar disorder and was taking medicines for it. "Till now statements of 56 people have been recorded, all angles are being investigated, be it a professional rivalry, financial transactions or health, etc. It has come to surface that he had bipolar disorder, and was undergoing treatment and taking medicines for it," said Singh.
