Staying Safe During The Holiday Weekend

Max Cohan explains how some people are planning to use the water as a way to stay healthy.

Both on air and online.

Fourth of july weekend is underway... but due to the pandemic... it will be different from past years.

We have team coverage with everything you need to know about staying safe and enjoying your holiday weekend.

We begin with waay 31's max co-han -- he's live at lake guntersville after learning how some people are planning to use the water as a way to stay healthy.

Max... thats right najahe, while not everyone i spoke to planned to be on the water, one man said it was his only plan for staying safe this weekend.

"staying on the boat, away from everybody else."

People visiting guntersville lake this weekend, like bill womack -- in from georgia to see his son -- have their own plans for staying safe.

Womack has had this trip planned for two months says staying on the boat is all he has planned.

"that's it."

Other families don't plan to spend time on the water, but say common sense will keep them safe.

"we're trying to social distance and if we go into any grocery stores or anything like that just wear masks and be safe."

Aynsley & connor tate stopped to do some fishing friday and say they plan to spend more time outside this weekend.

"play a little golf, barbeque, that sort of thing -- right bud?"

While the families have different plans, it seems they can agree that keeping their distance from others while spending time with family is the best way to spend the holiday weekend.

Reporting live in guntersville, max cohan, waay 31 news.
