Exploring Solutions to Uncover Milwaukee's Promise

With the recent George Floyd Protests around the country, many are discussing ways to work toward long-lasting change in their communities.

A reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and longtime Milwaukee resident wants to cover and help solve the issues facing Milwaukee today with his series Milwaukee's Promise.

"I want viewers to know that the Milwaukee Promise is about them.

How can they be engaged and how they can spark change.

While I traveled to find the best practices on a number of our issues, nothing will change with our citizens pushing for change" says James E.

Causey.

Each month he will cover another topic and help organize events to help amplify the voices of the community.

His first piece tackles the issue of voter suppression through the experiences of Abra Fortson, and sparks discussion about how to ensure everyone gets the right to vote.

This month is also his first engagement event: a Vision Board where the people are asked what they would like to see Milwaukee look like a year from now.

"Without vision we can't move forward".

You can submit a Vision Board of your vision of Milwaukee in one year!
