We asked 50 people, one from each state in the U.S., to each spill the beans on the best kept secret about their home state.

Is there an abundance of natural beauty that an out-of-stater just wouldn't appreciate?

More llamas than one might normally expect?

- I would say Louisiana'sbest kept secret is thatif you're not from there, youthink Mardi Gras is one day,and it's weeks of parties and parades.It's all for locals upuntil that last weekendwhen the drunk tourists show up.[lively music]- Best kept secret, if I toldyou it wouldn't be a secret!Maybe Rainbow's Drive-In,it's a local favoritefor really good greasy,fusion Hawaiian local food.- There's a little restaurant downtownor midtown called Lux on Central.They have the best macaroni and cheesewith bacon that you'll ever have.- You can pet llamas justabout anywhere in the state.- We've got this bread in acan, it looks terrible, right?Why would you eat bread out of a can?But it's delicious.- Okay, Tennessee's best kept secretwould probably have to be the trickto making real good, genuine moonshine.I still don't even know.It's that good of a secret.

[chuckles]- All you guys know our secretslike Sasquatch Coffee andmaybe our teriyaki chicken.- 'Cause you can tell peoplehow beautiful Idaho is,but unless they've actuallybeen there, they don't get it.They think, "Oh, butColorado and Washingtonand California are so muchbetter," but they're not.- Big Bend National Park.- Everglades.- Appalachia.- Probably Kent Falls.- Best kept secret in Indianawould be the lakes and dunes all over.- I'd say the northern lights.- Our national parks are really good,like Cosca National Park.- Apostle Islands in Door County.- The food scene is really good here.- Probably the fluffernutter sandwich.- The best kept secretis that we have the best sandwich chains,Cheba Hut and Snarf's.- The Taylor ham, egg,and cheese sandwich,which is a spiced ham that canonly be found in New Jersey.- We have the world's tallestfiling cabinet in Burlington.- A lot of rednecks tendto go, and I might be thereso I'm guilty as charged,but the lasershowat Stone Mountain's pretty cool.- You know what Illinois' best kept secretactually would be Galena,which is in the northwestcorner of Illinois.- There's a lot of likecreators and writersand artists that come out of Iowa,that's definitely not super well known.- The Amish sometimes use electricity.- The best kept secret isI think just the outdoors.- Well, I'm partial becauseI like in Sioux Fallswhich is the biggest city in South Dakota,and I think our downtown isthe best downtown in America.It's Phillips Avenue andit is wildly awesome.- It's all of our greatfood and restaurantson Federal Hill in Providence.- It's the Piedmont, nobodygoes, but it's just milesand miles of forests, andit's absolutely beautiful.- I think California's best kept secretis that there's more Hispanicsthan there are white people in California.- The Sweet Martha's Cookiesat the Minnesota State Fair.- Any Midwestern food,but especially Saint Louis-style pizza.- We've got great apple farmsand really nice apple donuts.- My state's best kept secretis that sauerkraut isactually really good.- Our state economy.- The NASA Space Centeris in Huntsville, Alabama.- I believe Michigandoesn't have any secrets,even our state flag showsthere's not a nicer peninsulayou will ever find.- This is the best place to go camping,Wyoming doesn't cut it.- Our best kept secretis that we don't really use outhouses.- Some amazing landscape.- General desert excursions.- The fact that we have allfour seasons in New Mexico,it's gorgeous, so it's not just a desert.- You know, it's not a secret,but maybe the Brooklyn Museum, I love it!- Oregon's best kept secret I would thinkwould be all the amazing mushroomsthat are grown in the wild.- The best kept secret about Kentuckywould be the people areactually really great,I don't know if people know that.- Arkansas, is completely underratedfor the outdoor adventure,and it's also one of thebest places in North Americato dig for quartz crystals.- Number one, the pizzas,number two, tax-free shopping.- There was a presidential bunkerunderneath The Greenbrier hotel.- There are actually somethingcalled the Flint Hills,which is a great place to drive through.- The best kept secret Iwould say are the people,they're actually really nice people.[gentle music]
