Protein In "Good Cholesterol" May Lower Dementia Risk

Senior adults with higher levels of a specific protein in their blood have better cognitive function.

According to a new study, those same older adults might also be at lower risk for dementia.

According to UPI, about 6 million Americans are currently living with some form of dementia.

The protein, apolipoprotein E, is found in HDL, which also is known as "good cholesterol".

Earlier research also shows that apolipoprotein E has a "cardioprotective" effect, meaning it may protect your heart.
