On being asked on the claim made by Indian Medical Association (IMA) that the community transmission of COVID-19 is started in India, Dr Arvind Kumar, Chairman, Centre for Chest Surgery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on July 19 stated that he is 100% agreed with IMA.
He said, "Community transmission has been there from quite some time.
It was localised to pockets, for instance- in Dharavi and several areas of Delhi.
I 100% agree with IMA that there is community transmission in India." The total number of COVID-19 cases in national capital is over 1.2 lakhs.
Indian Medical Association (IMA) Secretary General RV Asokan reacted on country's single-day spike of over 80,000 cases. Asokan said that instead of focusing on the number of cases, the country should focus on reducing death rate. "There has been a single-day spike of over 80,000 cases. IMA feels that the country is nearing the peak. We may reach the first place in the world in a couple of weeks. But we also have to look at the brighter side of it. The case fatality rate in the country is falling. Instead of number of cases, we should focus on reducing deaths," he said. India has recorded more than 83,300 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

R.V. Asokan Secretary General Indian Medical Association on September 4 reacted on country's record of 83,883 Covid cases in 24 hours. He said that instead of focusing on number of increasing cases, country should focus on reducing the death rates. He said, "IMA feels that country is nearing the peak, and the country may reach the first place in the week but we have to look at the brighter side that the COVID case fatality rate is falling."
S.N Shrivastava, Commissioner Delhi Police, felicitated the meritorious students of Delhi Police Public Schools who secured exceptionally good marks in Class XII, NEET and JEE at Police headquarters. Teachers and students from all the three schools were also present virtually to witness the ceremony. 25 students were awarded merit certificates, cash rewards and trophies for their achievements. 11 among these 25 students are wards of Delhi Police personnel. LG award and Rajesh IPS award for the best student of the year was also presented to class XII students. Other than school toppers, stream toppers and achievers in NEET and JEE were also rewarded. On this occasion, the Commissioner of Police commended the Principal of the schools as well as the school faculty for putting sincere efforts with dedication, which resulted in getting excellent results. These schools are run as welfare measures for police personnel by the Police Foundation for Education, Delhi.
Traffic jam was witnessed in Mumbai's Dharavi area after a portion of a road caved in. The jam has drastically affected as it took place during peak hours traffic of morning on October 12. Locals are facing various problems due to massive traffic on road.
