Covid-19: Tamil Nadu gets plasma bank, AIADMK legislator becomes first donor

Tamil Nadu launched its first plasma bank to treat Covid-19 patients.

Bank was launched at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.

Health Minister Dr C Vijaya Bhaskar inaugurated the plasma bank.

The bank has been established at a cost of Rs 2.34 crore.

AIADMK legislator N Sathan Prabhakar became the first donor.

Prabhakar had recently recovered from coronavirus.

Plasma therapy is being used in the treatment of those infected.

It involves infusion of blood from recovered to affected.
