Testing of COVID-19 has increased in India. As per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a record high of 8,48,728 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. This has taken the cumulative tests to 2,76,94,416. 12,608 new COVID-19 cases, and 364 deaths reported in Maharashtra. Delhi reported 1,192 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths. Tamil Nadu reported 5,890 new COVID-19 cases and 117 deaths taking total number of cases to 3,26,245.
The cases of coronavirus continued to surge in India, however, fatality rate dipped to 1.99 %, informed Health Ministry. National Expert Group on vaccine administration has also been constituted by Centre. Maharashtra continues to witness surge of over 10,000 COVID-19 cases taking total tally in the state to 5,35,601. Delhi reported 1257 COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths on Aug 11. Karnataka recorded 6,257 COVID-19 cases today. While, Tamil Nadu reported 5,834 COVID-19 cases and 118 deaths so, total number of cases in the state is now at 3,08,649, including 2,50,680 discharged, 52,810 active cases and 5,159 deaths. Andhra Pradesh recorded 9024 cases. Country has conducted over 2.5 crore sample tests so far.
India on August 13 reported 66,999 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. 942 people lost their lives because of pandemic yesterday. According to Ministry of Health, the COVID19 tally rises to 23,96,638 including 6,53,622 active cases in the country. 8,30,391 samples tested on August 12. The total number of 2,68,45,688 samples tested up to August 12,informed Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
India on August 12 reported single-day spike of 60,963 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. 834 people lost their lives because of pandemic yesterday during the same period. According to Ministry of Health, the COVID19 tally rose to 23,29,639 including 6,43,948 active cases. 46,091 lost their lives due to the deadly virus so far. Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said 7,33,449 COVID-19 samples were tested on August 11. 2,60,15,297 COVID-19 samples have been tested so far, according to ICMR.
India tested 7,19,364 samples for COVID-19 on August 08. 2,41,06,535 samples have been tested for SARS-CoV-2 so far, according to Indian Council of Medical Research. Country also reported highest single-day spike of 64,399 cases on August 9. Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh continue to lead caseload, as states witnessed surge of 12,248 and 10,820 cases respectively.
BJP MLA and Sushant Singh Rajput's relative Niraj Kumar Singh Babloo on July 31 lambasted on Maharashtra Police and accused them for their negligence in the case."No probe has been done by Maharashtra Police so far. No case has been registered yet or a person has been charged. They have just done inquiries. This is just a formality. We don't trust them now," said Singh
Filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt, actress Kangana Ranaut and film director Karan Johar's manager have been summoned by Maharashtra Police in Sushant Singh Rajput death case. "If needed Karan Johar can also be summoned, total number of 37 people have been summoned for the investigation till now" said Home Minister of Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh. Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra apartment on June 14. He was reportedly suffering from depression.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on winning the confidence motion in State Assembly on August 14 said that there is a wave of happiness. Ashok Gehlot said, "In the entire state, there is a wave of happiness. The BJP's conspiracy has failed in Rajasthan. I consider it a win for the people of Rajasthan. Now we have to work together to fight COVID-19. The way BJP had conspired in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, they applied the same technique in Rajasthan, but they have been exposed."
Airports Authority of India (AAI), Chairman, Arvind Singh revealed certain details about the recent air crash incident in Kozhikode that took place on August 07. "The aircraft could not land at a runway on where it had to, and then landing was tried on another runway where the mishap happened. We are monitoring situation and airport will become operational soon. An alternative facility in Nagpur is also under progress," Chairman Arvind Singh informed. At least 18 people have lost their lives in the mishap so far. More than 100 injured are being treated at a hospital.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued guidelines for Unlock 3.0 on July 29 for resumption of activities outside containment zones. Unlock 3.0 will come into effect from August 01. In the third phase of unlock, yoga institutes and gymnasiums will re-open from August 5. The fitness equipments and machineries are getting properly sanitised. Gym owners are taking all necessary precautionary measures ahead of opening gyms. All fitness centres are closed for nearly 4 months due to coronavirus pandemic. Now, this comes as a relief to several gym owners and fitness trainers who have been facing massive financial losses after having been shut since March. According to Government of Maharashtra, indoor gymnasiums and other fitness centres to remain closed in the next phase of 'Mission Begin Again'. Only outdoor centres for exercise and gymnastics can remain open from August 05, following all social distancing and hygiene protocols for COVID-19.
