'Rising Covid-19 cases in Pune now becoming a cause for concern’: Javadekar

Union minister Prakash Javadekar held a review meeting on the Covid-19 situation in Pune and assured all help from the Centre in the fight against the pandemic.

Javadekar urged people to maintain social distance and wear masks at all times.

"Today there was a meeting with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Pune Mayor and other officials on the coronavirus situation in Pune district.

We discussed all the aspects of the situation.

There is a need for people to follow social distancing and wear masks," Javadekar said.

He added.

"I request people of Pune to follow relevant guidelines.

Only then can we beat Covid-19.

Today, Pune has become a cause for concern.

The Centre will assist the state and the municipal administration with respect to combating Covid-19.” Pune city reported over 1,100 cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday.

The number of case in Pune is now over 91,900 with 2,400+ deaths.

Maharashtra has over 3 lakh 75 thousand Covid-19 cases in the state.

Over 2 lakh 13 thousand have recovered in Maharashtra so far.
