A 6th grade teacher held a back to school giveaway to help students during the coronavirus pandemic.

Hundreds of parents in lee county lined up to receive school supplies for their students..

Organizers passed out supplies today at guntown middle school... 6th grade teacher, vanessa washington, held the back to school event to help out lee county students.

She and volunteers gave out school supplies to students in all grade levels..

Because of the large turn out, each driver received 2 bags of supplies.

Mary ruth was one of the many parents waiting in line.

She said it hasn't been easy for her financially during this pandemic.

And she was happy to receive some help.

"hard.

I's been very hard..

But we've been getting by.

Thank god."

This was the first year organizers held this giveaway.
