Many people who have lost their jobs during coronavirus lockdown have got into roadside pet fish business in Kerala's Kozhikode. Joblessness is one of the major concerns amid COVID-19. They now hope to make their ends meet. Vaishnav, who was involved in laying cables for a telecom company, lost his job amid pandemic. Speaking to ANI, Vaishnav said, "Earlier, I was involved in laying cables for a telecom company. After coronavirus, they didn't have much work for me. I was staying home jobless. Then, I started selling pet fish on roadsides. Now, I can earn something."

Scientist of India Meteorological Department of Delhi, Kuldeep Srivastava informed that Delhi has recorded its lowest temperature in month of October since 1994. He said, "Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 12.5 degrees Celsius (at Safdarjung) today, the lowest in the month of October after 1994. The particulate matter (PM) is very poor in the national capital currently and air quality may deteriorate further in coming days."
Rainfall lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu’s Chennai. Many areas in the city witnessed severe waterlogging. India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that the southwest monsoon finally withdrew from the entire country. With this the northeast monsoon, a phenomenon that brings rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala during October to December, commenced. "Under its influence, scattered rainfall with moderate thunderstorm and lightning (is) very likely over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during the next five days with isolated heavy rainfall over south Tamil Nadu during the next two days and over south Kerala during the next 24 hours," the IMD said.
