BJP leader Uma Bharti said that she will skip the 'bhoomi poojan' event in Ayodhya.
The BJP leader tweeted that she is leaving for Ayodhya from Bhopal and she is afraid that she may come into contact with some Covid positive person.
She added that she would not like to endanger PM Modi or any other person at the event.
She said that she has informed the temple trust authorities and also the PMO that she would not be attending the bhoomi poojan event and would offer her prayers after PM Modi and others leave the spot.
The former Union Minister said that she has been especially worried after news of Amit Shah and other BJP leaders tested positive for Covid on Sunday.
Massive preparations are underway in Ayodhya for the foundation laying ceremony of the Ram Temple on August 5th.
PM Modi and 200 other people are expected to attend the event.
Security has also been tightened in and around the temple town in view of the event.

The district administration of Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad city has arranged a special facility for women on the occasion of International Women's Day. They commenced women special 'COVID-19 vaccination center' on March 08. The vaccination center at District Mahila Chikitsalaya is fully owned by female staff including doctors, nurses, compounders, security personnel and housekeeping staff.
After former chief minister Siddaramaiah refused for donation of Ram Temple, Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa said 'one Siddaramaiah is enough to destroy Congress party.' "One Siddaramaiah is enough to destroy Congress party. Similarly, HD Kumaraswamy is destroying his party. Even the poor are giving Rs 10 each (for Ram temple) out of devotion. Siddaramaiah says that it's disputed land, so he won't contribute," said Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa. He added, "PFI tells people to not contribute (for Ram Temple) as it's disputed land, Siddaramaiah says the same. They have the same opinion. There is no difference between Siddaramaiah and PFI, they are one."

Senior Congress leader Kantilal Bhuria launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders over fund collection for Ram temple construction. Bhuria alleged that BJP leaders consume alcohol with the donation money collected for Ram Temple. “BJP leaders collected crores of rupees in the name of Ram Temple construction. They collect donations in the day and drink alcohol using the money at night,” he said. BJP's Kalsingh Bhabar has sought an apology from the Congress MLA from MP’s Jhabua. Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust is overseeing the temple construction. It authorised RSS, VHP and others to collect voluntary donations from people across the nation.

Uttar Pradesh government's proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the Centre, informed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on February 26. "UP government's proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the Centre. About Rs 1,000 crore have been allocated to the district administration. The central government has disbursed Rs 250 crore," said CM Yogi.
80-year-old Sevi Mohammed Sharif received a letter from Government of India in which he was told that he will be honoured with Padma Shri. It has been a year since he received a letter but so far he has not received the award. Sevi Mohammed Sharif resides in Ayodhya and is bed ridden due to several health issues. Sharif's grandchildren look after him. Family is in hope that after he is honoured with the award, there might be some assistance provided by government for his medical treatment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the event 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav'. The event took place via video conferencing on March 08. While addressing at the committee meeting to mark 75 years of Independence, PM Modi said, "Today, India is doing things that couldn't be imagined some years ago. In this journey of 75 years, the country has reached here gradually. There are contributions of so many people to the country in this journey." "The country can't progress by denying anyone's contribution. The country goes forward by accepting and respecting everyone's contribution and we want to follow this mantra," he added.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pragya Thakur was carried to a plane and airlifted to Mumbai after complaining of ill health. She was reportedly admitted to Kokilaben hospital after experiencing breathing difficulty. The Bhopal MP had reportedly been taken to AIIMS Delhi in February 2021 with similar issues. Smriti Irani spoke against gender inequality while addressing a virtual event in Delhi. The Union Minister said girls get less financial support for competitive exams than boys. Irani was speaking about ‘Women Power in Democracy' at Indian Institute of Mass Communication. “Girls don't get much financial support as compared to boys for competitive exams. The bias begins when a girl child is given a kitchen set or dolls to play with. A boy child is given a toy truck or lego set where he will learn how to build. These kinds of challenges are to be met societally and immediately,” Irani said. The union minister delivered the ‘Friday Dialogue’ at IIMC in presence of director Sanjay Dwivedi. The address was a virtual interactive session where the minister also took questions.

Yoga Guru Ramdev launched Patanjali's ‘Coronil’ to cure Covid-19 on Friday. Patanjali Ayurved said Coronil has got Ayush Ministry’s certification as per WHO scheme. The company claimed that it is the first evidence-based medicine to fight Covid-19. Ramdev also released research paper to back Patanjali's solutions to Covid-19. The ayurvedic medicine against coronavirus was launched at an event in New Delhi. The event was presided by Union Ministers Harsh Vardhan and Nitin Gadkari. Patanjali had earlier introduced Ayurveda-based Coronil on June 23 last year. The Haridwar-based firm, however, had to face criticism as it lacked scientific evidence. The Ayush Ministry, back then, had indicated it as 'Immuno-booster' only. Coronil is developed by Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Research Institute. It had started work for an Ayurvedic remedy for Covid-19 in January, 2020.
