Sushant death case: Nitish govt letting Bihar Police get insulted, says Tejashwi Yadav

RJD Leader and main opposition leader in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, on August 03 reacted on the current situation of Bihar Police in alleged suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput by saying that the Bihar government is letting state police get insulted.

Yadav sarcastically demanded state government to demand CBI enquiry in the case.

"Centre and Home Ministry have all powers, they must intervene.

This double-engine government should demand CBI inquiry and request Home Minister.

It shouldn't be politicised, we're with Rajput's family," said Yadav.

Yadav also slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar government in the Bihar Assembly over COVID-19 situation.

He said that all the public representatives should go in their respective areas and review the situation with the officers and give right feedback to the state government.

Fresh twists and turns in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case on Monday. Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty approached the Supreme Court on Monday with a fresh plea alleging “media trial”. Rhea said she should not be made a scapegoat of political agendas. The actor also alleged the transfer of probe by Bihar Police to CBI was “illegal and bad in law”. Rhea was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday in the money laundering case linked to Sushant’s death. Rhea and her family members were summoned on Monday morning. Later, Sushant’s business manager Shruti Modi was also questioned in the case. Sushant’s friend Siddharth Pithani also reached Enforcement Directorate on Monday. Centre had transferred Sushant’s case to the CBI after which an FIR was re-registered on Thursday naming Rhea and others. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Sushant did not have the best of relations with his father. Sushant’s family hit back at the Shiv Sena leader and demanded an apology.

Several opposition parties protested outside the Parliament over GST payments to states. Members of Parliaments from Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Trinamool Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Aam Aadmi Party, Nationalist Congress Party, Samajwadi Party and Shiv Sena raised slogans against the Modi government and demanded that states be paid their GST dues. The MPs raised slogand and held posters demanding Goods and Services Tax payments to states. Government had earlier presented the states states with two options to resolve the contentious issue of compensation shortfall estimated to be Rs 2.35 lakh crore. The first option for states includes a special window to be provided, in consultation with the RBI, for borrowing the projected GST shortfall of Rs 97,000 crore. The second option included borrow the entire projected shortfall of Rs 2.35 lakh crore — both on account of faltering GST collections and the expected shortfall due to the pandemic from the market. Metro services resumed in Delhi, Lucknow and Bengaluru after a hiatus of over 5 month due to the Covid pandemic. Strict screening and social distancing norms had been put in place at the stations. In Delhi, the yellow line which connects Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Centre was the first line to be opened. People were seen entering the station with adequate protection. Thermal screenings were conducted before the passengers were allowed to enter the station. Even inside the metro, adequate measures were in place to ensure social distancing norms were followed. Proper security was deployed at all metro station to ensure people followed all Covid preventive norms. Special posters have been put up inside coaches and on station premises to raise awareness, besides regular announcements on safety norms. In Delhi, the first trains left from Samaypur Badli station to HUDA City Centre station. Other metro lines will also be made operational in the capital over the next five days, said DMRC officials.
