PM Modi will participate in two debates in the high-level segments beginning from September 21. "This time UN General Assembly will be historic and in more than one way. India's permanent representative to the United Nations TS Tirumurti has called out Pakistan's bluff on the Kashmir issue. He said that contrary to claims made by Pakistan, the issue has not been discussed at the United Nations since 1965. Trimurti added that recently a closed door meeting was held but that was nothing official and there was no outcome either. He further added that all countries, except China, have backed India's stand that it is a bilateral issue and there is no need for intervention by any organisation. 'Pakistan's attempts fell flat and even if Pakistan wants to raise the issue, there are no takers here at the United Nations', said Tirumurti. Pakistan has been desperately attempting to raise the Kashmir bogey at various platforms since India abrogated Article 370 in the valley. However, Pakistan's attempts to gain international support on the issue have not borne any fruit so far. India has maintained that scrapping of Article 370 was an internal matter and several countries have backed India's stand on the issue. Watch the full video for all the details

India hit back at Pakistan for raking up Jammu and Kashmir in the UN General Assembly. Slamming Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, India said that Jammu and Kashmir is its 'integral and inalienable' part. India exercised its Right of Reply in the high-level debate of 75th session of UNGA. Indian delegate Mijito Vinito said, "The leader of Pakistan called for those who incite hate, violence to be outlawed. But as he went on, we were left wondering, was he referring to himself? This hall heard the incessant rant of someone who had nothing to show for himself. Instead, we saw lies, misinformation, war mongering and malice spread through this Assembly. The words used by the leader of Pakistan demean the very essence of the United Nations." Earlier, Vinito had walked out of hall during Pakistan PM's speech. Imran khan's pre-recorded statement was played at UN General Assembly. Junior diplomat Vinito picked up his papers, left the hall as Khan's speech was played. Imran Khan had raised kashmir issue and criticised Indian govt on several issues. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address UN General Assembly on saturday.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh on September 19 informed that Pakistan is using drones to drop weapons. He was briefing mediapersons, after Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists arrested by security forces from Rajori. "Pakistan is trying to disturb peace in JandK by using drones to drop weapons. They are also trying to infiltrate terrorists. Dropping of weapons by drone is challenging but we have been able to restrict such acts and have got some success," said Singh.
An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Kawoosa Khalisa area of Budgam district on Monday. Last week, four Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror associates were arrested by security forces in Budgam. More details are awaited.
Since the late 1980s Pakistan's military establishment has used youth from Jammu and Kashmir to join its various terrorist proxies like Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taibah and Jaish-e-Mohammed, said the director of Amsterdam based think-tank, the European Foundation for South Asian Studies, Junaid Qureshi. Junaid told the UN that rejection of India was the slogan dictated to the youth of Kashmir as Islamabad's aim was Islamic Caliphate and merger of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan. He added, "Today, led by its Foreign Minister, Pakistan is demanding a return of the autonomy that Jammu and Kashmir had earlier enjoyed under the Indian Constitution. The same Constitution against which, it started this proxy war in which Kashmiris were massacred".
The European Foundation for South Asian Studies, a think-tank based in Amsterdam has exposed Pakistan for harbouring terrorists in its territory during the ongoing 45th Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Genava. In her intervention, Veronica Ekelund, Research Analyst at EFSAS said that Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi have time and again confessed at international platforms that their country shelters terrorists. "Respect for human rights is universal and paramount and applies to all countries, including Pakistan. And, Terrorism inherently undermines the promotion and protection of human rights. Talking to CNN in February 2019, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi admitted that UN designated Terrorist and Chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad, Masood Azhar, resides in Pakistan. To BBC in March 2019, Mr. Qureshi also confessed that his Government and Jaish-e-Mohammed maintained official contact", Veronica told UN. She added, "In July 2019, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan told the US Institute of Peace in Washington that his country hosts 40,000 terrorists. In June 2020, Prime Minister Imran Khan referred to Al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden as a "Martyr" in the country's Parliament. Last month, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged the presence of UN Designated Terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim on its territory". Veronica said that Pakistani officials have time and again confessed; the country continues to be a safe haven for terrorists and terrorist organizations. "The UN Security Council's consolidated list of terrorist individuals and entities includes 146 entries from Pakistan. With all due respect, I am compelled to ask. Why is Pakistan still a member of this august Council?", she said in her intervention.
Ministry of External Affairs, spokesperson Anurag Srivastava on August 27 said that India shared enough evidence with Pakistan on Pulwama terror attack but the country continues to evade responsibility. "Pulwama attack chargesheet was filed after probe of a year and half. It has been filed to address the act of terrorism and to bring perpetrators of the heinous crime to justice. Our aim is not to simply issue statements or notifications, Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for Pulwama attack, the organisation and its leaders are in Pakistan. It's regrettable that Masood Azhar, the first accused, continues to find shelter in Pak. We've shared enough evidence with Pak but it continues to evade responsibility," said Srivastava during press conference.
Search operation is underway in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces conducted search operation in Marhama Sangam area after terrorists fired upon them. Security of locals is being ensured during the operation. Further information is awaited.
