As schools across the Commonwealth face tough decisions on reopening, there is new research about how kids are impacted by COVID-19.

MATT: SCHOOL DISTRICTS HAVEALREADY GOTTEN AN EXTENSION ONTHE SCHOOL PLAN DEADLINE.AND NEW RESEARCH COULD PLAY AROLE IN THOSE DECISIONS.A NEW REPORT BY THE ACADEMY OFPEDIATRICS FOUND NEARLY 100,000CHILDREN TESTED POSITIVE FOR THEVIRUS IN THE U.S. IN JUST THELAST TWO WEEKS OF JULY.338,000 CHILDREN HAVE BEENDIAGNOSED WITH THE PANDEMICBEGAN, MEANING MORE THAN AQUARTER OF THE CASES ARE IN JUSTTHAT TIME SPAN.MOST OF THE CASES CAME IN THESOUTH AND WEST.MISSOURI, OKLAHOMA, ALASKA,NEVADA, IDAHO AND MONTANA SAWTHE HIGHEST NUMBER OF CASES.STATES IN THE NORTHEAST HAD THELOWEST PERCENT INCREASE OF CHILDINFECTIONS.THE REPORT NOTED THAT CHILDRENRARELY GET SEVERELY SICK FROMCOVID-19.MASSACHUSETTS SCHOOL DISTRICTSNOW HAVE UNTIL FRIDAY TO SUBMITTHEIR BACK TO SCHOOL P
