Kozhikode plane crash: Family thanks almighty for miraculous escape

A man named Ramshad, his pregnant wife and four-year-old daughter escaped Kozhikode plane crash with minor injuries.

Ramshad said, "I feared that aircraft will explode and I was running with my family to safety.

It's a miracle that we escaped unhurt.

I thank Almighty for it.

Pieces of cabin luggage fell on my daughter.

I somehow managed to get up and took her.

My wife also got up after initial shock.

We managed to reach the wing of the aircraft and jumped out.

There were cries and utter chaos all around us." On August 07, Air India skidded during landing at Kozhikode airport which several injured and many died including 2 pilots.

Kerala local body polls: Covid-19 patients cast votes donning PPE kits

Covid-19 patients cast their votes during the second phase of Kerala local body polls. People placed under quarantine were also allowed to cast votes in their respective booths. These people arrived at polling stations donning PPE kits and taking other precautions. One hour after 6 pm was allotted to coronavirus patients for casting their votes. The second phase of local body polls in five central districts of Kerala held on Thursday. Second phase saw brisk participation of voters with around 76.28% turnout. Polling for 8,116 wards across Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad was held. Two corporations, 36 municipalities, 350 village panchayats, 58 block panchayats and five district panchayats went to polls. EC had deployed 63,187 officials at polling booths, 19,736 police personnel were on duty. Third phase in 4 districts - Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod - will be on December 14. Counting of votes will be held on December 16.

The first batch of Covaxin landed at the Delhi airport from Hyderabad on January 13. The Covid-19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech was brought in by two flights. An Air India flight landed with 3 boxes while the Vistara flight reached Delhi with 4 boxes. The boxes have been shifted to temperature controlled facility at cargo terminals before being shipped out. Meanwhile, Mumbai received over 1.39 lakh doses of the Oxford Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield, from the Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) on January 13. The vaccine was brought to Mumbai from Pune in a vehicle of the BMC. The vaccine doses are being stored at a facility in F-South ward office situated in Parel. Madhya Pradesh also received a consignment of Covishield on Jan 13. The consignment arrived at Bhopal airport from Serum Institute of India. The Covid-19 vaccination drive will be implemented on Jan 16 across the nation. Watch the full video for details.
