Indian Army dogs Vida and Sophie were awarded with the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Cards on the 74th Independence Day this year, for their role in different operations. Vida of an Army Dog Unit located in Northern Command and Sophie of Special Frontier Force (Bomb Disposal Squad) were awarded with COAS Commendation Cards. According to the Indian Army, Vida was instrumental in detection of five mines and one grenade buried underground and Sophie, an explosive detection dog sniffed out the presence of initiator/accelerant which could have been hastily used to fabricate an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), thereby saving precious lives.
'Mazhab nahi sikhata, aapas mein bair rakhna, hindi hain hum, watan hai hindustan hamara' meaning Religion does not teach us to bear ill-will among ourselves; we all are Indians and our homeland is Hindustan. These words from a patriotic song turned into reality when leaders of various faiths assembled at The India Imam Organization's office in New Delhi on the occasion of 74th Independence Day. They together chanted slogans awakening national spirit and then hoisted the national flag, spreading the message of unity and universal brotherhood.
Farmers intensified their protests across the country on Friday. Several roads were blocked by the protesting farmers. Farmers in Uttar Pradesh occupied the streets and several political parties joined the protests. Congress workers, AAP, Samajwadi Party workers joined protesting farmers. Delhi-Noida border was blocked due to the protest. Farmers in Tamil Nadu’s Trichy were seen protesting with skulls and chains. Farmers sat outside the collector’s office. Protest intensified in Punjab as farmers gathered in large numbers. Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, along with Harsimrat Kaur Badal, was seen holding a tractor rally. BJP national president JP Nadda paid tribute to Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary at party's headquarters in Delhi on September 25. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Dr Harsh Vardhan also paid tribute to Jana Sangh leader. Upadhyaya was a RSS thinker and former leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

Bilkis dadi illustrated her active presence at the prolonged anti-CAA protest in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh. Dadi expressed happiness over the nomination and said, "Will be famous all over the world".
Flight Lieutenant Shivangi Singh is set to become India Air Force's first woman pilot to fly fighter jet Rafale. Flight Lt Singh's family celebrated her achievement at their residence in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi. Flight Lt Singh is currently undergoing the conversion training. She will soon join the 17 Golden Arrows Squadron at Ambala airbase. "My daughter has worked hard and we have always supported her. It's a matter of pride for us, we are happy that she's going to fly this aircraft," father of Flight Lt Singh said. Flight Lt Shivangi Singh was previously flying MiG-21 fighter aircraft. Indian Air Force has 10 women fighter pilots and 18 women navigators. The total strength of women officers serving in IAF is 1,875.
