As Delhi metro prepares to resume services from 7th September onwards in a calibrated manner, Delhi transport minister Kailash Gahlot has said that they will live up to the challenge.

He said that social distancing norms, thermal screenings at the gate will be done and masks will be made mandatory for people who want to travel in metro.

The minister said that all steps will be taken to ensure that Delhi metro does not contribute to the spread of the Covid pandemic in the capital in any way.

Gahlot also added that the air conditioning system would be revamped to ensure regular flow of fresh air inside the metro trains.

Metro services have been shut since the first phase of the lockdown in March in view of the Covid pandemic.
