The Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi passed away at Delhi's AIIMS on September 23. As per AIIMS top official, he tested positive for COVID-19. Speaking to media, BJP National President, JP Nadda said, "It is really a matter of pain for all of us. His soul will rest in peace. It is unfortunate that one of our senior leaders Angadi Ji passed away today." "Throughout his life, he worked for the welfare of people. I pray to the almighty to give strength to his family so that they can overcome this grief," he added. Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal added, "Words fail me at this time, he was an absolutely wonderful human being. It is a deep personal loss for me. He was elder to me and he always guided and supported me. Under his leadership, Indian Railways was taking many new dimensions."
BJP workers beat up workers of Pappu Yadav's Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) on September 25. The two groups clashed outside BJP headquarters in Patna. The brawl took place after JAP workers tried to enter BJP office in protest against recent farm bills.

A video of the incident shows some alleged BJP workers chasing JAP men and beating them with sticks. Many political parties have joined protests against the agri bills that have been passed in parliament and await Presidential assent to become laws. Farmer groups in several parts of the country are protesting against the agri bills. Farmers are apprehensive that the entry of corporates in the agriculture sector will reduce their power to negotiate fair prices and also fear that the system of MSP will eventually be diluted. The Modi government has said on numerous occasions that the system of MSP and APMCs will not be done away with. Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on September 25 expressed confidence on NDA coming back to power and Nitish Kumar becoming Chief Minister again after Election Commission announced dates for Bihar assembly elections. "We are confident that NDA will get a majority and Nitish Kumar will be Chief Minister again," said Minister Prasad.
