Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and former chief minister of JandK, Farooq Abdullah on September 19 demanded discussion of the Amshipora case, wherein three Rajouri locals were killed by the Indian Army, in the lower house. Abdullah further said that we are happy that the army has accepted that the boys who were killed in Shopian district were innocent. "We are not against any operation carried out by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, but we are against the killing of innocent lives during the operations. We will raise this topic in the Lok Sabha today," he added.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Police Premier League (PPL) T-20 cricket tournament in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. Director General of Police (DGP) of J-K, Dilbag Singh was also present in the event. 16 teams from Srinagar are participating in the tournament. "16 teams from Srinagar are participating in it. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that he was not against the operations being carried out by security forces in the valley but against the loss of innocent lives during those operations. "The Army has agreed that the three persons who were killed in Shopian were killed by mistake and the government should provide a huge compensation in this case," Abdullah said. Yesterday, Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane had said that the investigation into the Amshipora case will be conducted with utmost fairness and will be taken to their logical conclusion. Meanwhile, the Army said that the inquiry ordered by the Army authorites into Operation Amshipora has concluded adding that during the operation, powers vested under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) 1990 were exceeded.

Rajouri district administration issues an alert for people living alongside the river area in the view of heavy rainfall. Water level has been increased in several rivers of Jammu and Kashmir, due to rainfall. "We have issued an announcement in several areas of near water body," said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Liaqat Choudhary.
Around 12,000 people got first instalment of Rs 50,000 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for construction of houses in J-K's Rajouri district. The construction of houses is a big relief for underprivileged in the region. Locals hailed efforts of J-K and Central Government for helping them to get 'pukka' houses. While speaking to ANI, the Assistant Development Commissioner in Rural Development Department of Rajouri, Sushil Kumar Khajuria said, "It is a big relief for poor as they can live safely in Pukka houses." Speaking to ANI, a local, Mohd Razak expressed delight after receiving first instalment for house construction under the housing scheme. He said, "J-K Government has helped us a lot by giving money to construct concrete houses. We use to face a lot of problems living under thatched roofs, especially during rains."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 1.75 lakh houses built under PM Awas Yojana in Madhya Pradesh. The inauguration event was conducted via video-conferencing. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also present at the inaugural function. CM Chouhan also communicated with some of the beneficiaries of the housing scheme. The beneficiaries told PM Modi how PMAY has made their dream come true. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a housing initiative of the government. The scheme was launched in 2015 to provide affordable housing to poor.
