Will McConnell Win Again?

President Donald Trump and Senate Republicans are gearing up for a massive confirmation fight.

The raging battle is over the replacement for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.

In 2016, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked President Barack Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland to fill an open SCOTUS seat.

At the time McConnell argued against filling a SCOTUS vacancy during an election year.

McConnell is pushing to fill another SCOTUS opening with less than 50 days before election day.

Democrats are fighting back.

They have promised to fight the nomination with everything they have, including multiple impeachments and procedural slowdowns.

However, McConnell and the Republicans have the votes to confirm the nominee.

Is Mitch McConnell going to succeed and fill Ginsburg's seat?

Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large, says McConnell will certainly fill the seat.

"And there's not a damn thing Democrats can do about it."
