2 Butte County elementary schools granted approval for in-person learning

Paradise Adventist Elementary and Chico Oaks Adventist Elementary School have met the requirements for in-person instruction in alignment with State guidance and standards, according to the Butte County Public Health Department.

This is one of two butte county schools to get approved for in person learning.

They said it's been a long process but they are confident to bring their students back.

Paradise adventist elementary and chico oaks adventist elementary met the local and state requirements to begin in person instruction monday.

Paradise adventist principal dave vixie says the waiver process was in depth and took six weeks to get approved.

Some of the changes include the ability to learn outside, reduced desks in one classroom, air filtration changes and more.

Im very excited for the kids to come to us, but i'm also a little nervous because it's a whole new environment for the students to come back to.

They have to keep their distance, have wellness checks... but the teachers believe its worth it considering how hard it is to teach students online.

Principal vixie says if a covid-19 case arises on campus, that specific classroom will move to online while the entire school resumes in person.
