LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) - COVID-19 led to numerous postponements and cancellations for the high school football schedule.

Despite the problems, high school team still took the field and battled it out.

Multiple rivalry games where rivals went at it.

ABC 36's Bryan Kennedy and Austin Miller have highlight from the best action in the area in the High School Highlight Reel.

Welcome in to the high school highlight reel.

I'm bryan kennedy and this is austin miller.

C1 3 a little more than 24 hours ago...we had a different game of the week.

Scott county taking on a game with george rogers clark after having to cancel with frederick douglass.

Last time the cardinals and the cardinals faced off...2017.

County won that one 43 to 14.

G-r-c is a different team now though...their matchup with scott county is your game of the week.

This one was just a one-score game at half..

But scott county would get the offense rolling..

Campton martin..

With a vicous stiff- arm.

Then fights through an arm tackle..

For the touchdown.

That would make it 28-14.

Kendrick dodges a couple defenders before he's knocked out around midfield.

Trimble county out to punt...the ball sails over the punters head.

Somehow he's able to corral it and avoid disaster.

I don't know any other way to say this...south laurel c1 3 north laurel aren't big fans of each other....but that's what rivalries are about...right?

Before 2018...the cardinals hadn't beaten the jags since 2011.

Cards won in 2018, but last year the jags won.

What does 2020 have in store?

This game wasnt even close out of half time the jags grant woods takes it right side for 6 makes it 38-6 then cardinals answers back tryin to spark something with a pitch and catch to traeton napier who runs hard for 6 then they go for 2 point conv traeton napier again with a big body catch 38-14 cardinals again still fighting elisha dugger picks off the jags for turnover jags win big over south laurel...47 to 14.

Heavy hearts out at north laurel tonight...hopefully the win can lift some spirits.

25-21 pikeville these teams only had a couple days to prepare for each other...and it shows.

Pikeville beats henry clay 58 to 41.

One of the bigger rivalries in the area...west jess taking on east jess.

Second half we go on the eastside... here's something you don't see every day..

Jaguars deep in colts territory but they cough it up and the colts would take over cutting the east jess drive short.

But on the very next play..

It's west jessamine's turn to fumble it and the jags get it right back..

Taking over where their drive had stalled.

And quarterback connor darby would hit paydirt with an easy t-d scamper..

Jags in the driver's seat with a 19 point lead.

Just when you thought west jessamine was out..

Fourth and long in their own territory..

But they go for it and it pays off bigtime..

In the form of 7 points as jacob jones finds dalton carter and nobody catches the sophomore..

A 62 yard bomb to cut into the jags lead.

Colts d gets a stop and on the next possession..

Jones dials up the same play to carter..

This one not going for six but still a long completion and all of a sudden the momentum starts to shift..

This game started out a little slow for both team redhounds drops back for a bomb but picked off by trent asher but the eagles couldnt capitalize redhounds get it back then cameron combs goes wildcat and runs it in him for the first td then seth mills gets in on the action hard up the middel for 6 makes it 14-0 right before halftime treyveon longmire catches the screen pass and runs it in for 6 to make it 21-0 before half redhounds pitch the shutout.

Corbin beats leslie county 49 to nothing.
