Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday released the Project Management Approach (PMA) guidelines for iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) during the launch function of Defence India Startup Challenge-4 (DISC4).
Apart from Singh, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat also participated in the event, being held via video conferencing.
The Defence Minister congratulated all stakeholders, including those in the Ministry of Defence (MoD), for creating such an environment where participants from various sectors are coming together to promote innovation in defence.
Loss of 3% of GDP in Country's economy due to road accident, informed Defense Minister Rajnath Singh during his speech at the inaugural function of National Road Safety month which started on January 18. "As many road accidents are happening in our country, there is a loss of 3% of GDP in the country's economy. More than 1.5 lakh people have lost their lives due to the corona epidemic, but even today more people are losing their lives due to road accidents. This is not a normal challenge for us," said Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on January 16 said that COVID vaccination drive began with a positive note, and he expects more people to line up to get inoculated in coming days. "After seeing the results of COVID-19 vaccination today, many more people will turn up to get inoculated. We will export the vaccines to other countries also as India believes in 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family)," the Defence Minister said in Lucknow.

The felicitation ceremony was held during the celebrations. For the first time ever, Indian Army demonstrated combat swarm drones at the parade. Army Day is celebrated on Jan 15 every year. On this day in 1949, Field Marshal KM Cariappa became the first Indian to take charge of the Indian Army.

On the occasion of India's Constitution Day, soldiers deployed in Siachen and Kargil recited the preamble to the Constitution. They 'reaffirmed their commitment' to the Constitution, the Defence MInistry said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the nation and stressed on the importance of performance of duties in order to safeguard rights. Giving a mantra of KYC, or 'Know Your Constitution', he said that people need to gain a 'comprehensive understanding' of the document. President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, also led the nation in recitation of the preamble. India's Constituent Assembly had adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949. Watch the full video for more.
