Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on November 02 said her party if needed, will support Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or any other party to defeat Samajwadi Party (SP) in MLC elections in UP. "If needed, BSP will support BJP or any other party to defeat Samajwadi Party (SP) in the upcoming MLC elections in the state. We have taken this decision to show our firm stand against SP's anti-Dalit actions," said Mayawati in media brief.
A hotel belonging to alleged gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari was demolished on November 1. Hotel Ghazal, situated in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, was demolished by government officials. The property was reportedly probed by the SDM earlier this year. Irregularities were reportedly found in sale of land, construction, and the master plan. RJD and Congress delegation went to went to EC office in Patna on Nov 10 to raise the issue of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar allegedly influencing counting of votes. RJD leader Manoj Jha said, "There are over dozens of seats where tampering has been done. They are trying to change the people's mandate, even after all such ill-intended attempts we'll form government." Responding to the allegations, Secretary-General of ECI, Umesh Sinha said, "Election Commission has never worked under anybody's pressure. According to latest report by Election Commission, NDA is leading on 123 seats in the state, one more than the required majority mark of 122.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh accused BJP of ‘selective tampering of EVMs’. MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra hit back saying that a BJP victory is certain whenever Singh raises the EVM bogey.
