Hathras case: CM Yogi flays opposition; Congress says dismiss DM immediately

Politics continues to escalate over the Hathras case that has caused outrage across the nation.

Congress has said that the District Magistrate should be dismissed and a probe should be launched into who ordered him to go and threaten the family of the victim.

Congress also said that the victim’s family has demanded a judicial probe under a sitting Supreme Court judge.

Congress said that the CBI probe ordered by the Chief Minister was nothing more than damage control and also questioned why the SIT continued to probe the case despite it being handed to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Congress leader Sushmita Dev also added that the victim’s family wants to take the ashes for a dignified ritual.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has said that some groups are trying to stir up communal tension in the state and veer it away from the path of development.

Congress leaders Rahul & Priyanka Gandhi had met the family of the victim on Saturday.
