Maharashtra: Heavy rainfall lashes Mumbai, Pune; causes waterlogging, traffic

Heavy downpour lashed several parts of Maharashtra.

Waterlogging was witnessed in many areas of Mumbai.

Flood-like situation occurred near Sion police station and King's Circle in Mumbai.

Normal life was also thrown out of gear after torrential rains hit Pune.

Several low-lying areas reported water logging and power outage.

The central fire brigade said that water entered houses in Hadapsar, Kondhwa, Aundh, Bhavani Peth and Nana Peth areas resulting in fire brigade being pressed into service.

A major rescue operation was also carried out in Pune’s Indapur area.

A man was washed away by a strong stream triggered due to heavy rains.

Locals rescued the man with the help of a JCB.
