Ahead of Bihar elections, while addressing public rally in Bettiah on October 21, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda said, "Prior to 2014, nobody presented their report card. People used to speak of their caste in public addresses and ask for votes on basis of their caste and region." "In 2014 Narendra Modi changed the character of India's politics," he added. "Tejashwi Yadav's posters don't show Lalu. PM Modi's politics has made people so aware that son is removing his own father from posters. Tejashwi knows that if there's Lalu Yadav's photo, it'll remind of 'lalten yug' and when JP (JP Nadda) speaks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo it will remind of 'LED yug'," BJP National President further stated.
Eknath Khadse sent resignation to Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP's) president Chandrakant Patil on October 21. He wrote, "I am resigning from the primary membership of BJP due to personal reasons." Addressing the press conference, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra minister, Jayant Patil said, "Eknath Khadse promoted BJP in Maharashtra over years. I have been informed that BJP leader Eknath Khadse has resigned from his party. We have decided to give him an entry in NCP." "He will be formally inducted into NCP at 02:00 pm on Friday (October 23)," he added.
A 72-year-old farmer died in Haryana's Ambala on October 14. He lost his life during a BJP tractor rally in support of Farm Bills. Speaking to media, DSP of Naraingarh, Anil Kumar said, "Case has been registered against several people after his son alleged that few anti-farm laws protesters were involved in his father's death."

Amid the border tension at Line of Actual Control in Ladakh between India and China, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his silence on the matter."Did you hear him say anything on China, have you heard him say the word China over the last couple of months? Why do you think he's not saying it, because he doesn't want to take the attention of the people of this country to face that China has occupied our land. The Chinese has occupied 1200 square kilometer of our territory. I ask the Prime Minister when you are planning to remove the Chinese from Bharat Mata's territory? In Ambala, vegetable traders at grain mandi stop work as mark of protest in support of farmer over three agriculture reform bills. "Don't know why government is damaging a good system running between vegetable traders and farmers. Farmers were getting fair price. Middlemen had their jobs and others were also employed in the system in the mandi. Government is saying they are making farmers independent but they are already independent," said a vegetable trader. The bills passed in Lok Sabha on September 17. A woman was booked allegedly for thrashing her mother-in-law over a family dispute at their resident in Humayun Nagar. A case has been registered under sections 323 and 70 (B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused. Further investigation is underway.
A speeding car fell off a flyover in the Vikaspuri area of the national capital on Thursday night. Two people were reportedly injured in the accident that happened around 11 pm. Police officials rushed to the spot and cleared traffic that had been held up due to the accident. The car was reportedly speeding and hit another car before falling off the flyover.
