Congress veteran leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijaya Singh reacted on Kamal Nath calling BJP leader Imarti Devi an "Item".
Singh said he was unaware about the context in which Nath used the word.
"I don't know in what context Kamal Nath Ji's said the word.
I also don't know the requirement behind the 'natak' 'nautanki' BJP is doing today.... No one from Madhya Pradesh's BJP said anything on Hathras incident." Recently, Nath called Imarti Devi 'Item' during an election rally.
Imarti Devi is a scheduled caste candidate of BJP.
As COVID-19 cases spread across India like wildfire, several politicos on April 16 tested positive. Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on April 29 said BJP is doing politics on corpses amid COVID-19 2nd wave."There is not a single hospital in the state that has medicine, injection, oxygen, ambulance, or bed and CM is saying everything is sufficient. For the last 3 months, national and international media were alerting for second wave of COVID," Nath said to ANI. "BJP is doing politics on corpses. They think they'll stop COVID by hiding truth but it won't happen. I advise him (CM) to take helicopter and visit each distrist. I'll lend my full support as per my capabilities. I've spoken to injection companies to increase MP's quota," he added.
Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath berated Madhya Pradesh Government over its management of COVID-19 in the state. "It is in today's newspapers. Records of crematoriums tell everything. They are just misleading everyone to hide their failure. It's a murder. State is reporting 9,000 cases every day. This is when testing is limited," said Kamal Nath.
Amid the political turmoil in Maharashtra in wake of allegations levelled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh against the state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, a meeting is underway at the residence of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on March 21. Party leaders Praful Patel, Ajit Pawar, Jayant Patil and Supriya Sule are present at the meeting. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, Congress leader Kamal Nath also attended the meeting. A 1,000-bed hospital is being built for COVID patients in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district which will start functioning from the end of this month. According to District Collector Deepak Singh construction work of the hospital in full swing and the hospital will be completed within the next three weeks. "This month, a target has been set to commission the 1,000 bed hospital. The work is going on very fast. Hopefully, in the next two weeks, we will complete the civil work. We will start the hospital by making arrangements in the next one week."
At least 17 people have been arrested for pasting posters criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's handling of the Covid-19 immunisation programme. The posters read in Hindi quoted, "why did PM Modi send vaccines of our children to foreign countries?" His friends and he had shot dead a man, named Amrish Sharma in March; 4 were arrested in the matter. His friend was also wanted in a murder case in Morena, MP.
