EJ Espresso: DelhiCovid cases hit 4,000 even as India sees a decline
Delhi reported 4,086 fresh cases on Friday, its highest spike in 35 days.
Except on October 19, the capital has been reporting over 3,000 cases daily for the last 10 days, sparking concerns of a second wave as the festive season sets in.
The numbers are worrying especially when national Covid figures have shown a remarkable decline.

A 25-year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by a snatcher in North-West Delhi. Police said a woman was stabbed while she was trying to resist a robbery bid in Adarsh Nagar. The woman was coming home from the market and was holding her child when the incident occurred. A CCTV footage of the Saturday night incident went viral on social media. In a video, two women can be seen walking when a man chasing them snatches the victim's chain. Video shows the woman chasing the man who falls on the road, then stands up and stabs her. Police said that the victim was taken to hospital where she was declared brought dead. FIR has been lodged, 10 police teams have been constituted to investigate the matter.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a public rally in Meerut came down heavy on Centre government's three agriculture laws. Terming them as "death warrants," Kejriwal said that it is a do or die situation for farmers sitting on border. "The government wants to take away their lands and give them to 3-4 capitalists. Farmers will become labourers in their own fields," Kejriwal added. CM Kejriwal said that Centre government has left behind Britishers. He said, "Even Britishers did not oppress our farmers to this extent, they did not fix nails on the ground."
