Mumbai mall fire under control after 18 hours; Aadiyta Thackeray visits area

Fire at Mumbai’s City Centre Mall brought under control after more than 18 hours.

88 tankers and over 250 firemen were deployed at the spot in Nagpada area.

Four firemen and one deputy fire officer suffered injuries.

Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aadiyta Thackeray visited the area and took stock of the situation.

Fire broke out at a shop in the mall at 8.53pm on October 22.

The blaze escalated to brigade call (level 5) at 2.41am on Oct 23.

At least 3,500 residents of a neighbouring 55-storey building were also evacuated.

The cause of the fire is not known yet.
