'One nation can't have 2 flags': BJP condemns ex-J&K CM's tricolour comment

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti came under attack for her comments on Indian flag.

Mufti recently said she won't raise the tricolour till J&K state flag is restored.

She made the comments with the flag of erstwhile J&K state on her table.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called her comments anti-national.

He said, “We condemn how Mehbooba Mufti has insulted the Indian tricolour.

Her statement that she won't raise the tricolour until the J&K state flag is restored via Article 370 - there can't be any comment more objectionable than this.

The tricolour is India's national flag.

Jammu & Kashmir is an inviolable part of India.

Article 370 was removed as per Constitutional process.

Both Houses of Parliament cleared it.

Today, J&K has good administration, strict action against terror.

People are happy there.

To such a statement about not raising the tricolour till the state flag is restored, we want to say - Article 370 will never be restored.

It has ended.

One nation can't have two symbols, two chiefs.

There can't be two flags.”

Srinagar-Leh National Highway reopened by BRO after about 2 months

Strategic Srinagar-Leh highway opened by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) after over 58 days. The highway was closed due to the thick layer of snow. Snow clearance of Zojila Pass was a big challenge owing to snow accumulation of 30-40 feet, threats of avalanches and inclement weather conditions. Inspite of all odds, the snow clearance operations had been conducted and completed by BRO. This road is important from the strategic point of view, being the only route between Kashmir and Ladakh. The route is a lifeline for the survival and economic development of people of Ladakh and for the security forces.

Will OTT platforms be censored now? Centre clarifies day after regulations

Amit Khare, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday said that the ministry has set three broad objectives to regulate Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms and digital media. Amit Khare further said: "We understand the types of media are different amongst each other completely. The print is different from Television, TV is different from films and films are different from web series. We cannot have the same criteria all over but there should be some sort of similarity in the goal post." "What was announced yesterday is a soft touch, self-regulatory mechanism with minimal interference of the government," Khare added.
