And people who are tired of following the state's guidelines.

Kezi 9 news reporter evita garza shows us how some people are hoping to lead by example.

< 00:00 stephen tranter, roseburg resident:?i think we need to be responsible.

Wee all adults are reasonably intelligent?

00:05 take lower stephen tranter tells me he's followed the governor guidelines since day one.

He thinks everyone has to do their part... to get the numbers down.

But, public health officer bob dannenhoffer says not everyone has the same dedication.

In the last week&.

The county has seen more than 30 cases and 4 deaths -- some of the largest numbers since the pandemic started.?it deeply concerning because wee coming at a time of the year where we would expect an increase in raspatory illnesses?

Dannenhoffer says many of the cases have come from out-of-state travel& which is something he's advised against from the beginning.?21 states where people have come from and brought disease to oregon.

People really need to be careful when they travel to other areas?

00:49 evita: even though the guidelines can be frustrating, tranter says he going to continue to follow them... in hopes of leading by example??people are going to have to learn to deal with it.

Figure out how to manage with it.

Wearing the mask, keep their distance."?i don think this is outside our grasp.

If we worked hard enough, we could get these numbers down?
