Sri Harimandir Sahib in Amritsar, popularly known as Golden Temple has been lit in colourful lights on the birth anniversary of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev. The reflection of the glittering temple fell on the 'Sarovar', the sacred pond and fireworks went up in the air this evening. A large chunk of devotees visited the Golden Temple to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. The temple glowed with illuminated candles and earthen lamps (Diya). The entire Golden Temple complex is decorated and lit up to celebrate the occasion. The glittering fireworks covered the sky.
Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane lashed out at Pakistan over its continued support to terrorists. Speaking at the Army Day celebration, the Army Chief said that Indian forces have been giving a stern response to provocations at the border and added that around 300 to 400 terrorists are waiting across the border to infiltrate into India. During the Army Day celebrations on January 15, Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane told that over 200 terrorists near LoC and in counter-terrorism operations in last year. "Around 300-400 terrorists are sitting in training camps near the border to infiltrate into the Indian territory. Number of ceasefire violations went up by 44 per cent last year, which shows the nefarious intentions of Pakistan. Last year, the Army eliminated over 200 terrorists near LoC and in counter-terrorism operations," said General MM Naravane.

A Sikh 'jatha' from India will leave for Nankana Sahib in Pakistan on November 27. They will leave ahead of the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev's 551st birth anniversary. Sikh 'jatha' will leave from Punjab's Amritsar today. This year, the 551st birth anniversary of the Sikhism founder will be marked on November 30. Five suspected terrorists, two of whom were allegedly involved in the murder of Shaurya Chakra winner Balwinder Singh in Punjab, were arrested on Monday in east Delhi's Shakarpur area after an encounter and have revealed Pakistan spy agency ISI's attempt to link up terror outfits in Kashmir with Khalistan operatives, officials said. According to police, three of the five arrested are from Kashmir, while the rest are from Punjab. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwah said, "On Monday morning, our team received specific information that two Punjab based criminals were supposed to receive some money from three Kashmiris. On this specific information, five people were arrested after a brief exchange of fire from the Laxmi Nagar area in Delhi."Three pistols, two kilograms of heroin, and Rs one lakh cash were recovered from them along with the two cars in which they were traveling, he said. Five people allegedly belonging to different terrorist organisations have been arrested in Delhi. The men were nabbed following a shootout with police in east Delhi on Monday. The exchange of fire took place in the national capital's Shakarpur area around 7am. Police said that the two of those held are from Punjab while three are from Kashmir. Police added that they recovered weapons and other incriminating materials from them. Police further said that the probe is at an early stage and all information related to suspects is being verified. The arrested men include Shabbir Ahmed, Ayub Pathan, Riyaz, Gurjeet Singh and Sukhdeep Singh. Police added that the group was backed by Pakistan's ISI for narcoterrorism.
