He said that after the abrogation of Article 370, the people are even more alienated than before rather assimilating into the rest of the country.
"They said that by the abrogation, the people who were distraught with the administration of Hindustan would completely be assimilated into the rest of the country.
But I'd like to say with conviction that by this these people are even more alienated than before," he said.
JandK National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on December 26 alleged that after results of DDC polls, government tried to 'forcefully'make their candidate join Apni Party who won from Shopian. Omar Abdullah said, "Referring to DDC polls, the PM today said that democracy has won but the government has started to harass those who fought the election in Shopian. Two senior leaders of the National Conference were detained after the declaration of the DDC poll results. They are being put under preventive detention for no reason. One lady of our party who won in the election in Shopian was forced to join Apni Party. We have a phone recording to prove it."
National Conference's Omar Abdullah hit out at BJP as results of Jammu and Kashmir DDC polls poured in. Abdullah said that after this defeat BJP won't conduct Assembly polls in J&K anytime soon. Meanwhile, BJP leader Ram Madhav said DDC results are a victory of Centre's policies. People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration swept the maiden DDC polls. The alliance of regional parties including NC and PDP won 110 seats. BJP has emerged as the single largest party by bagging 74 seats. Polling was held over eight phases beginning November 28 and ending on December 19.

People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) members met in JandK's Srinagar. They met on December 24 to discuss the DDC election results. While addressing the media, PAGD member and National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah said, "Gupkar alliance is much stronger today than when it was formed. We are united and we will continue to be united."
