The Duchess of Cornwall has spoken with women from the domestic abuse charity Safe Lives, who have pioneered the ‘ask for ANI’ codeword scheme, to help victims raise the alarm in a safe way. Patron of SafeLives, spoke with the Charity’s Chief Executive, Suzanne Jacob and Safe Lives Pioneer, Rachel Williams about the Ask for ANI (Action Needed Immediately) scheme. Introduced to support domestic violence victims, the codeword programme was introduced by the Government in mid-January to help victims access much needed support from thousands of pharmacies across the UK.Ask for ANI allows those at risk or suffering from abuse to discreetly signal that they need help. When a customer asks for ANI, a trained worker will offer a private space where they access support services.
