District administration with the help of several organisations launched a massive cleaning campaign of Ganga in UP's Varanasi on March 07. As many as 84 Ghats were cleaned up during the campaign. Volunteers took an oath to ensure clean and neat Ganga.
A class 11 student jumped off his 15th-floor apartment and died in UP's Noida. The teen was allegedly battling depression due to his physical looks, skin complexion. The local Sector 49 police station was alerted around 5 am about the incident. Police said the body was sent for autopsy and no complaint has been made by the family. Ranvijay Singh, ADCP, Noida said, “A 17-year-old kid jumped off his apartment and died in Noida Sector 78. His parents said their son had been battling depression due to his skin complexion. The boy's parents were living separately and he was staying with his father.”

Uttar Pradesh government's proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the Centre, informed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on February 26. "UP government's proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya has been approved by the Centre. About Rs 1,000 crore have been allocated to the district administration. The central government has disbursed Rs 250 crore," said CM Yogi.
80-year-old Sevi Mohammed Sharif received a letter from Government of India in which he was told that he will be honoured with Padma Shri. It has been a year since he received a letter but so far he has not received the award. Sevi Mohammed Sharif resides in Ayodhya and is bed ridden due to several health issues. Sharif's grandchildren look after him. Family is in hope that after he is honoured with the award, there might be some assistance provided by government for his medical treatment. Sevi Mohammed Sharif made it to coveted list for his social work.
President Ram Nath Kovind performed a 'Narmada Aarti' dedicated to Maa Narmada on March 06. Governor Anandiben Patel, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also performed the aarti. Chief Justice of India SA Bobde and Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel were also in attendance. Leaders performed all the rituals were performed to pay respect to the sacred river. Scores of devotees also participated in the 'Narmada Aarti'.
President Ram Nath Kovind attended All India State Judicial Academies Directors' Retreat in Jabalpur on March 06. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Governor Anandiben Patel and CJI SA Bobde were also present at the event.
Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath took a jibe at the state, Governor Anandiben Patel, over her speech in the Assembly. The former MP chief minister said he felt “pity” for the governor. State minister Vishwas Sarang responded to Kamal Nath’s comments and condemned the remarks. Sarang asked the former chief minister to “apologize immediately” for insulting the governor. Uttar Pradesh government requested central government to approve 6-lane road from Gorakhpur to Lucknow, informed state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on March 05 in Gorakhpur. "Raj Ghat (cremation ground) has been renovated, unlike how it used to be, it's clean and have many facilities. We have also requested the Centre to approve 6-lane path from Gorakhpur to Lucknow. Soon, there will also be a 'Plastic Park', which will employ over 25,000 youths," said CM Yogi.
As many as 51,000 earthen lamps were lit in Ayodhya marking the eve of Kartik Purnima. The lamps were illuminated at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of River Saryu. Sabarimala Temple in Kerala was decorated..
