Despite the rise in COVID-19 cases in UP's Morabadad, people were seen flouting COVID norms, they were neither wearing wearing masks nor following social distancing. District administration took an initiative to create awareness among people and tapped the services of Yamraj, the God of Death. A local artist, dressed as Yamraj, was seen creating awareness among people about COVID-19 pandemic, urging them to wear a mask and observe social distancing.He kept a piece of board along with lines, "Dharti wasio humara workload mat badhao, mask lagao aur distancing rakho", and kept saying "Mask lagao nahi to mai aa raha hun, Yum hai hum, hum hai Yum." Vicky, the artist said, "Corona is spreading rapidly so I request people of the city to wear masks and maintain social distancing wherever they go."
Amid surge in COVID-19 infections, people turn away eyes from COVID norms in Moradabad vegetable market. People in large numbers thronged the vegetable market on the morning of April 03. Announcements were made directing people to follow COVID guidelines but no one paid heed to it. Crowd flouted social distancing and did not wear masks either.
Locals attacked a sub-inspector with sticks in Moradabad after which he was seriously injured. The incident was captured on CCTV camera. Injured sub-inspector Pushpender said, "I was returning to home after finishing his duty at 1:30 in the night, during which, unknown 30 to 40 people attacked me with sticks in head, hands and eye." 4 people have been arrested while FIR has been lodged against others.

"COVID-19 cases in Lucknow is increasing rapidly, saving life of people is important conducting election is not," he said. The first phase of polling of Uttar Pradesh Gram Panchayat Election will take place on April 15, second phase on April 19, third phase on April 26 and fourth on April 29.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday. Taking to Twitter, Adityanath said he is in self-isolation and doing tasks virtually. On Tuesday, the CM isolated himself after some staffers in his office tested positive. Development comes shortly after the UP CM wrapped up his campaign for Bengal polls. Adityanath took the first jab of COVID-19 vaccine on April 05 at a Civil Hospital in Lucknow. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has tested positive for coronavirus. Yadav had recently visited Haridwar where Kumbh Mela is underway & met religious leaders. Uttar Pradesh urban development minister Ashutosh Tandon has also tested positive. UP govt has already announced restrictions on gatherings of people in view of Covid. Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday reported highest-ever single-day spike of 18,021 cases and 85 deaths. Adityanath govt has also imposed a night curfew in districts with over 500 active cases.

Ahead of panchayat polls, Ghaziabad police busted three illegal arms manufacturing factories on April 13. 47 country-made pistols, live cartridges have been seized from their possession. Police arrested 18 people in connection with the crime. Uttar Pradesh Panchayat polls will start from April 15.
Speaking on increasing fresh cases of COVID-19 in the state, Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey, on April 13, said that the state has increased its bed capacity in hospitals. "The number of positive cases has increased in the state. The number of beds has been increased in medical colleges/hospitals including Nalanda Medical College and AIIMS Patna," he said while speaking to mediapersons.
