Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on January 20 said that a complaint has been received regarding web series 'Tandav'. Action will be taken as per the law, he said. "Central government should bring legislation in regard to OTT (over-the-top) platforms," he said. BJP leader Ram Kadam and other leaders alleged that the web series 'Tandav' has some inappropriate scenes of Hindu gods which are hurting religious sentiments. Recently, the creators of 'Tandav' apologized for unintentionally hurting people's sentiments.

He said that apology will not work, "They should be beaten with shoes on a crowded chowk. He added that he will not sit quiet until team of 'Tandav' goes behind the bars. Recently, the cast and crew of 'Tandav' unconditionally apologized for unintentionally hurting people's sentiments.
After director Ali Abbas Zafar tweeted an apology note over the 'Tandav' outrage, BJP leader Ram Kadam called it a "big win", but said they will not stop until the cast and crew are behind the bars. "For last 6 hours, we were protesting outside Mumbai-situated Amazon office over the web-series 'Tandav' and we compelled them to apologise...This is our big win. And at last due to our pressure, 'Tandav' team had to apologise in front of whole country. But only apology won't work. We will protest until the whole team of 'Tandav' gets in jail...We'll go on hunger strike in front of Ghatkopar police station tomorrow morning and will compel them to file the FIR," said Ram Kadam. Comedian Kapil Sharma appeared before the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police on Thursday to record his statement in connection with alleged cheating and forgery case against car designer Dilip Chhabria, an official said. The Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai police had unearthed a major DC Avanti car financing and forgery scam and arrested Chhabria in the case last month. "During the investigation, it came to light that comedian Kapil Sharma had also been allegedly duped. He showed willingness to share information in connection with the case. Accordingly, he appeared before the CIU on Thursday to record his statement," the official said. The alleged scam came to light when the police seized a DC Avanti, a sports-car manufactured by Dilip Chhabria Design Pvt Ltd, in south Mumbai on a tip-off that its registration number was bogus.
