Where several states are complaining about the shortage of COVID vaccines, Tamil Nadu on the other hand asserted that the state does not have any such problem. Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan on April 10 informed that his state does not have any shortage of vaccines. "The no. of active cases in the state is now around 33,659 including 12,861 cases in Chennai. We are rapidly increasing COVID care centers. Here, we are planning 11,775 COVID care centres so that asymptomatic and mild cases don't occupy the oxygen beds," he said. "In Tamil Nadu, we don't have a shortage of vaccines. We have almost 18 lakh doses of vaccine available. We are aiming to do 2 lakh vaccinations in a day. In that case, our stock will last for 9 days," he added.
