On the occasion of Constitution Day, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on November 26 said BR Ambedkar played an essential role in formation of our Constitution.
He said, "BR Ambedkar played an essential role in formation of our Constitution.
On National Constitution Day we pledge to protect it.
It's the responsibility of elected institutions to safeguard Constitution and our duty to uplift every class keeping its spirit." On this day, in 1949, the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly.
While speaking during the valedictory function of 2nd National Youth Parliament Festival on January 12, Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla spoke about constitution. Speaker Birla said, "We have decided to run 'Know Your Constitution' campaign through the state governments in the entire country."
While speaking at the National Youth Parliament Festival on January 11, Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla spoke about strength of Indian democracy. Speaker Birla said, "The smooth transition of power through 17 general elections proves that Indian democracy is strong and mature."
Soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces read the Preamble to the Constitution of India at Siachen Glacier to mark the Constitution Day on Nov 26. The Day is celebrated on November 26 each year to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949. It came into force on January 26, 1950, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of the Indian Republic.
President Ram Nath Kovind led the nation in reading the Preamble to the Constitution of India on the occasion of Constitution Day, which is celebrated on November 26. The event was organised via video conferencing. On this day, in 1949, the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly.
Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu paid floral tribute to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on December 06 in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit also joined him on Mahaparinirvan Diwas. Meanwhile, at Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa also paid homage to architect of Constitution.
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar paid floral tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar in Kolkata on December 06 on the occasion of Mahaparinirvan Diwas. While speaking to media persons, Dhankhar said, "As constitutional head of West Bengal, I'm deeply disturbed and pained that governance in the state is getting away from the path of Constitution. It (the state) is distancing itself from the rule of law. The soul of Dr BR Ambedkar is under attacked."
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar paid tribute to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai on Mahaparinirvan Diwas. They also released a booklet on the life of Ambedkar. Constitution of India was formed under the guidance of Dr BR Ambedkar.

Speaking to ANI in Kolkata on January 17, Congress leader in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury spoke about seat sharing. Chowdhury said, "Seat sharing is a process and you can't take decisions on such issues in a single meeting. We don't have much time so collectively Congress and left parties will have to fight together." "The matter of seat sharing has not reached at its final stage yet. Overnight such matters don't end," he added.
