Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi including top leaders of BJP who also hold ministerial positions are campaigning in different parts of country for upcoming assembly elections and Rahul Gandhi which he called 'Puppu' is catching fish. "Look at the difference. Modi ji is campaigning in Tamil Nadu, Amit Shah ji in West Bengal, Nadda ji is in Assam, Rajnath Singh is in Kerala, and 'Pappu' is catching fish, then they'll say EVMs are malfunctioning," he said. Rahul Gandhi was seen fishing with the fishermen during his Kerala visit.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the wedding of a doctor in Ghazipur on February 27. Dr Brijendra belonged to a very poor family and his education was supported by him. During his tenure as Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Rajnath Singh had taken up the responsibility of educating two children. "It brings in satisfaction when poor children excel in their lives," said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The Indian Air Force carried out a long range precision strike against a practice target to mark the second anniversary of the Balakot Operations. The strike was carried out by members of the same squadron who carried out the actual operations inside Pakistan in response to the Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria also flew a multi aircraft sortie with the units to commemorate the occasion along with the squadron pilots. 'Balakot Air Strike', was the first aerial assault carried out by India in Pakistan after the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Balakot Air Strike was carried out as a reply to Pulwama attack that claimed lives of 40 CRPF officials. Second anniversary of the Balakot Operations was marked on February 26.
Some media reports say that India and Pakistan may upgrade their diplomatic ties after years of freeze in dialogue between both countries in the aftermath of the Pulwama and Uri terror attacks. Sources say diplomatic ties between the neighbours are 'taking new shape'.

An improvised explosive device (IED) was reportedly found at a railway crossing in Jammu and Kashmir. The bomb was reportedly recovered from Kenihama Nowgam railway crossing. Bomb squad personnel were seen carrying the alleged IED with a contraption before it was neutralised in a controlled explosion. Traffic was later allowed to resume at the crossing. Around a week earlier, security forces had busted another terror plot on the anniversary of the Pulwama attack. Watch the full video for more.

During his rally in Tirunelveli on February 27, Rahul Gandhi said, "I fall asleep at night in 30 seconds as I am not afraid of Mr Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi). How long does Tamil Nadu Chief Minister take? He can't sleep at night as he isn't honest. Since he is dishonest he can't stand up against Mr Modi who thinks he can control people of Tamil Nadu because Chief Minister is corrupt." "Mr Modi thinks Tamil Nadu is like his television, he can pick up remote and do whatever he wants. He can put volume up and Chief Minister will talk louder and vice versa. A group of leaders who had earlier written to Indian National Congress chief Sonia Gandhi seeking reform in the party, held an event in Jammu on February 27. The programme was held in honour of Ghulam Nabi Azad, who recently retired from Rajya Sabha. He even received a tearful farewell from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on February 20 announced an increase in wages of tea labours by Rs. 80. The total wage of each tea garden workers in Assam will now be Rs 318. CM Sarbananda Sonowal said, "It is significant and historic initiative taken by BJP-led NDA government in Assam. This is happening for the first time because during our brief period of 4.5 years, we were able to increase the wages up to Rs. 80. Congress was unable to do it because of lack of their commitment to tea labours."
