BJP MLA from Pirpainti, Lallan Kumar Paswan on November 26 handed over transcript of alleged phone call he received from jailed Lalu Yadav, to police.
RJD chief allegedly asked him to not to vote in the election for State assembly Speaker's post.
"We decided to lodge an FIR against Lalu Prasad under the Prevention of Corruption Act, based on his telephonic conversation with me, where he tried to tempt me and asked me to be absent from Bihar Assembly.
This is how these people are playing with democracy," said MLA Paswan.

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav said that people like Bihar RJD president Jagada Nand Singh are the reason behind Lalu Prasad Yadav's ill health. Yadav asserted that Singh has not written 'Azadi Patra' for release of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav from jail. He said, "I've come here but Jagada Nand Singh (Bihar RJD president) is sitting in his chamber. He has not written 'Azadi Patra' (for release of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav from jail). People like him are the reason behind my father's ill health."
On Dumka treasury case, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's lawyer, Prabhat Kumar said, "The final hearing will be heard on next Friday. CBI has been directed to file reply by that time. The case has come to half of the sentence. We are hoping that he (Lalu Prasad Yadav) will get bail on Friday (February 05)."

Bidhannagar Mayor-in-Council Debasish Jana and three Trinamool Congress (TMC) councillors from Asansol joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday in Kolkata ahead of the forthcoming Assembly polls in West Bengal. Three TMC Councillors from Asansol and Bidhannagar Mayor-in-council Debasish Jana joined BJP on March 03. They joined party in presence of West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh. West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 02.

Unafraid of getting infected by COVID, over 200 people gathered at a wedding function yesterday in Chembur, flouting social distancing norms on Feb 21. FIR has been registered after BMC's complaint against Chhedanagar Gymkhana and parents of bride and groom under sec 188, 269 and 34 of IPC for violating SOPs of wedding ceremonies.
An FIR has been registered against two persons for allegedly duping people on the pretext of raising funds for Ram Temple in Kanpur. "Kanpur Police have registered an FIR against two persons namely Chandra Prakash Tripathi and Ashok Rajput, for allegedly duping people on the pretext of raising funds for Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya against fake donation receipts. Probe is underway," said SP (South) Deepak Bhuker.

Four states and 1 union territory - West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Puducherry - are ready for polls over the month of April. The counting for all the states will be conducted on 2nd May. This is the first major set of elections to be held amid the Covid pandemic since Bihar Assembly election in Oct-Nov 2020.

Noida Police arrested two persons including a constable of the Cyber Crime Police Station for allegedly demanding money from officials of a company for releasing them from custody. The company is situated in Sector-65 area of the city. According to Central Noida DCP Harish Chander, "While probing a case, Sub-Inspector Chetan Prakash and 5 constables of Cyber Crime Police Station went to the company, brought 3 company staff to police station and released them after taking Rs 2 lakhs."
