RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on January 21 informed that Mahagathbandhan will hold 'Kisan Jagruk Saptaah' (Farmers Awareness Week) to "educate" them about Centre's farm laws. The 'Kisan Jagruk Saptah' will be held for a week from 24th January to 30th January. "People, especially farmers of Bihar, will be made aware during the Saptah," he added. Yadav announced the information after a meeting of constituents of Mahagathbandhan today.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on January 17 met the family of IndiGo airlines station manager Rupesh Singh who was shot dead outside his residence in the city on January 12. Tejashwi met the parents of Rupesh Singh in Chhapra. The RJD leader has continuously criticising Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the law and order situation in wake of the IndiGo station manager's murder, and also asserted that Bihar is becoming the crime capital of the country. Tejashwi today also urged the CM with "folded hands" to control the crime rate in the state.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Governor Phagu Chauhan visited Patna Sahib Gurudwara on occasion of Guru Gobind Singh's birth anniversary. They offered prayers there on the occasion. Guru Gobind Singh was the 10th Sikh Guru and the day is celebrated to mark his birth anniversary.
Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb attended an event at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan to celebrate Statehood Day on January 21 in Agartala. Governor Ramesh Bais also attended the event. Tripura observed 49th Statehood Day with colourful programmes and multiple events across the state on Thursday.
The BJP has said that the party will not project a Chief Ministerial face in West Bengal. BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya said that BJP never projects a Chief Ministerial face in states that it is not in power. He added that a decision on the Chief Ministerial candidate would be arrived at after discussions between the chosen MLAs. He further hit out at CM Mamata Banerjee’s criticism calling the BJP worse than Naxalites. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel accused BJP of maligning any sort of protests. Baghel said that BJP called them Pakistani, Khalistani and even alleged them of being middleman's broker, but they won't be successful in their attempts in suppressing farmers. CM Bhupesh Baghel said, "Whenever there's a protest, BJP tries to malign it. As for protesting farmers, sometimes they (BJP) called them Pakistani or Khalistani. They even alleged that farmers are middleman's broker. NIA's notice has also been sent to the houses of the protesting farmers. Regardless of their attempts to suppress, farmers won't be scared."
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav taken for the medical test following sudden health deterioration on January 22. Earlier, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences has shifted RJD chief to the paying ward in Ranchi on Wednesday. Lalu Yadav has been convicted in the fodder scam case.
Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on January 21 visited Serum Institute of India (SII), in Pune, where massive fire claimed five lives. After visiting the institute, he said, "Contractor's men were working on that floor (where the fire broke out) and when the fire brigade officials went there, they found five completely burnt bodies. 2 of them were from UP, 2 from Pune and 1 is from Bihar." "Fire brigade has done good work. As per my info, CM will also visit the site tomorrow. The place where COVID vaccine is manufactured was not affected. I was informed that preparation was going on at this building (site of fire) to make Rotavirus vaccine," he added. Fire had broken out at Manjri Plant of SII today afternoon and claimed five lives.
Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, took on those seeking introspection following the party's subpar performance in the Bihar Assembly election. He said that leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal used to tell their junior colleagues to only raise party issues on internal fora, but were doing the opposite themselves.
